Elizabeth Valdez Garza was born in Houston, TX but raised in the Rio Grande Valley where she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Brownsville in Political Science. Prior to entering law school, Elizabeth was employed as a high school teacher at Ft. Bend County. Elizabeth enjoyed teaching as she found the ability to help and inspire students as a rewarding and invigorating experience.
After a year of teaching, Elizabeth decided to pursue her passion and attend law school in hopes of having a greater impact in the lives of individuals by fighting for justice. After graduating law school, Elizabeth joined an immigration law firm in Houston, TX where she had personal contact with clients and helped represent them in all immigration matters such as processing employment visas, investor visas, adjustment of status, naturalization, and deportation hearings in court.
In 2008, Elizabeth founded Valdez Garza Law Firm, P.C. and relocated to Brownsville, TX where she has successfully grown her practice to vigorously represent clients in family law matters such as divorce, custody, child support, cps and adoptions; criminal matters in both state and federal court where she has successfully handled jury trials in Cameron County, Nueces County, Dallas County and Harris County; immigration matters such as waivers, bond hearings, adjustment of status and naturalization; and has now expanded her practice to handle personal injury cases and workman’s compensation cases.
Elizabeth selected these areas of law as she feels that they are the areas where individual lives are most affected and enjoys the ability to assist individuals during these difficult times.
Elizabeth is a first generation Mexican-American as both her parents immigrated from Mexico and worked hard to provide a safe and loving home for her and her siblings. Their hard work inspired Elizabeth to also work hard and treat everyone with dignity and respect no matter their economic or educational background. Elizabeth’s success can be attributed to the individual attention and commitment she gives to each client and their case. She prides herself in being able to live up to her parent’s upbringing in providing her clients the personal attention they deserve beginning with the initial consultation and through the life of the case. Elizabeth personally handles every matter.
During her free time Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family.
